Dori Yang
Author of Howard Schultz Story

One of the most powerful books I've ever read. And Some RISE Above It should be shared between mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, and amongst friends. Patrick has written a book that truly matters.

And some RISE above it is witty, touching, sweet, and sad. The author's passions are infectious. He made me want to like baseball (I hate it) and pray to god (I'm agnostic.) I wanted to hug the author at the end to thank him for writing it.

I actually read the book in 2 sittings. This is an encouraging memoir that should be read by anyone who has contact with children. I knew nothing about the topic, but I am now considering becoming a foster parent at some point in my life because of this book.

I attended the National conference in May. Dashawn was there for a book signing. I got a book and started reading it on the flight home. I was always at the end of my seat and I couldn't wait to get to the next page. I picked this book up and I had a hard time putting it down. I would say that everybody should read this book.
